What Should Be in the Milking Bag

When you are not with your baby, it is important to continue milking as often as you breastfeed. This will signal your body to increase and maintain breast milk supply.

So, what do you need for outdoor milking? What should be in the milking bag?

Replacement Pump Parts
Make sure that your breast pump is complete. If possible, carry spare parts with you. White valves and deformations in the diaphragm are the most important parts that affect the breast pump’s pumping performance.

Battery
Keep as many batteries in reserve as you need so that you can continue milking in the event of a power failure.

Breast Milk Storage Bag
You can milk your milk directly into the breast milk storage bags. You can use a feature that makes milking outside more practical with breast milk storage bags in all breast pumps. Thus, you will carry fewer parts with you.

Breast Milk Storage Bottle
You can keep it with you as an alternative to a breast milk storage bag. You can close the milking bottle with a closing disk and carry it with you. If you will be milking several times a day, it will be useful to have enough bottles/bags with you to store the milk from each milking.

Ice Battery / Thermal Bag
If you don’t have the chance to put it in the fridge within 3 hours after expressing milk, you can take an ice battery and alternatively a thermal bag with you. You can read our article on breast milk storage conditions.

Breast Pad
You may need it for milk leaks in your breast during the day.

Wet Wipes
You may need it before and after milking.

Spare Clothing
You can choose an outfit that is easy to carry, takes up little space and is practical.

Plastic, Lockable Bag
To keep wet and dirty parts separate in the bag after milking

Su
It is recommended to drink water to meet your fluid needs before and during milking.

High Protein Snacks
To stabilize your blood sugar during milking

Your baby’s photo/item
Looking at a photo of your baby or smelling something that belongs to your baby can make it easier to express milk.
