The decision that changed your life: Becoming a Mother

Telling your loved ones that you are pregnant

Becoming a mother may be the hardest decision of your life. But rest assured, it will also be the best decision of your life. Another thing that excites many expectant parents is telling family and friends the news of their pregnancy.

Expectant mothers may be anxious to share this news with their loved ones. Some expectant mothers share the news with their loved ones as soon as they find out they are pregnant, while others prefer to keep this special news until the end of the first 3 months, when the risk of miscarriage is significantly reduced, but the time to share the news of pregnancy with loved ones is entirely up to the expectant mother. Once your pregnancy is over, you can soak up all the good wishes and the positive energy of your environment like a sponge.

Adjusting maternity leave

There are many things to think about when you are pregnant. When you find out that you are pregnant, you may want to get a head start on baby clothes, strollers and all the other fun preparations. But you also need to make a lot of arrangements during this period, such as submitting all the necessary paperwork to your employer before you go on maternity leave.

How long is the maternity leave?

Expectant mothers are granted a total of 16 weeks of paid leave, 8 weeks before giving birth and 8 weeks from the date of birth. In case of multiple pregnancies, 2 more weeks are added to the 8 weeks before the birth. However, expectant mothers can work up to 3 weeks before the birth with the approval of a doctor that their health condition is appropriate. In this case, the time worked is added to the postnatal period.

Birth leave certificate

If you are a working mother-to-be, one of the legal procedures you need to take in order to become a mother is to get your maternity leave certificate. The Maternity Leave Certificate is the Report of Incapacity for Work that you receive from a private institution contracted with the SSI or a SSK hospital at the end of the 32nd week of pregnancy.

When you go to get this report, do not forget to take a visit sheet from your workplace with you. Your visit sheet will include a breakdown of your SSK premiums for the last 4 months. Your pregnancy week and expected date of birth will be written on the incapacity for work report.

If you want to work until 3 weeks before your expected due date (day 37 0) and your doctor agrees with your request, your report should be issued as workable until week 37. In this case, the report you receive at 32 weeks will be a “Prenatal Workable Report”. when you reach 37 weeks, you will need to get the “Incapacity for Work Report” again.

The 5 weeks you will have worked before giving birth will be added to your postnatal leave entitlement.

you must submit a photocopy of the “Prenatal Workable Report” or “Incapacity Report” (Maternity Leave Certificate) to the accounting or human resources department of your workplace. Your workplace will enter this report into the SSI system. The hospital where you received the report will open a file for you in the SSI with your incapacity report.

If you are having a multiple pregnancy, you can take a maternity leave certificate at 30 0 and go on leave, or if you agree with your doctor, you can wait until 37 0 and add the intervening period (7 weeks) to the end of labor.

Don’t forget to keep a copy of the maternity leave certificate, you may need it later!

Have fun and pamper yourself in the last few months of your pregnancy!

Becoming a mother is not always a challenging time. Here are some tips on how to enjoy your pregnancy.

Start pampering yourself in your last few months! Pregnancy can be a bit taxing on your body in the last few months and you may not have time for yourself in the first months after the arrival of your baby. Now is the perfect time to pamper yourself.

As your pregnancy progresses, your feet may feel a little heavy and perhaps a little swollen. Soaking your feet in hot water will give you a little rest. What’s more, you can persuade your partner to rub your feet!

From the moment you make the decision to become a mother, prepare yourself psychologically for the changes in your body. You don’t have to worry about weight during your pregnancy either, now you can take advantage of it. Of course, you need to eat a healthy diet throughout your pregnancy, but don’t forget to enjoy the process.

There are a few things you should not do during pregnancy for your health and the health of your baby. These include drinking alcohol, smoking and using recreational substances such as drugs. If you are someone who likes to drink alcohol, non-alcoholic cocktails can be a great option for you. They come in fancy glasses, filled with fruit and are incredibly tasty.

After your baby arrives, it may also be difficult for you and your partner to spend special time with each other. You can take advantage of this by going out at night when you have time. Go to the movies or have a nice dinner with your partner. From the moment you decide to become a mother, having a strong relationship with your partner will also be important for the family you will create. And this will become even more important after the baby arrives.

How about a spa day? You and your friends can go out for the day or for the weekend and get that foot or back massage you’ve been craving. A pedicure or manicure would also be a great option. We are sure you are currently struggling to touch your feet! Most importantly, you will feel great after taking these suggestions into consideration.

Implementing any of these ideas will help you stay calm and relaxed during the last months of your pregnancy. Being a mom requires care. Never forget that moms need care too!
